We have been working on a little project that we would like to share with you which we think you will find quite useful. We noticed that many of the Turkish school rankings used in making UK admissions decisions, including the list published by the British Council, are out of date. These lists include many schools which have since fallen/risen in selectivity, merged with other schools, and even some that closed years ago.
As your local partner here in Turkey, with 20 years of knowledge and experience regarding the Turkish education landscape, we decided to create an up to date list that more accurately reflects the selectivity, prestige, and education format of the top schools in Turkey. We have created a high school ranking as well as a university ranking, which is further broken down into subject areas. You may view them all on our website by following the links at the end of this page.
The High School Ranking was created on the basis of selectivity and considers the 2017 high school placement exam (TEOG) scores. The highest possible score is 500. Note: some private schools give more weight to Math, Science, and English and create a special calculation out of 1000. All the scores in the high school ranking list indicate the minimum TEOG score to be admitted. In addition to school selectivity, we have also included: the English/Turkish school name, school type, whether they have an IB, medium of instruction, and location.
Our University Ranking is taken from the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) tables. It is the most widely used and trusted ranking for Turkish universities. In addition to this we have created ranking lists by subject showing selectivity based on the university placement exam. These subjects include: Law, Computer Engineering, Architecture, Business and Management, Psychology and International Relations. Should you need any other school and subject ranking please let us know: email@example.com
If you could kindly share this with your admissions office so that they can stay informed we would be grateful. Do let us know if you have any questions or suggestions!
All the best,
Alternatif University Placement Services Team
